Greeley is the county seat for Weld county and services a large rural area of farms and ranches. It is located East of Interstate 25 and north of Denver by about 60 miles. It is home to the Island Grove Regional Park which is a multi-use events complex located on 145 acres with facilities that border the Poudre River and has trees that were planted as far back as 1869.

There are numerous and varied activities in Greeley.  A major event held annually is the Greeley Stampede that dates back to the late 1800s and is an internationally acclaimed festival that attracts more than 250,000 people each year. It is famous for its pro-rodeo and kids rodeo events as well as country and classic rock concerts with superstar performers, a carnival, and much more.

85 miles of in-town bike lanes is a small part of the Greeley bikeway system.  The Poudre River Trail is 21 miles of paved pathway for cycling, walking, running, rollerblading, and more.  There are many locations within Greeley and nearby Windsor where you can access the trails. Greeley is home to University of Northern Colorado (UNC) and Aims Community College.
