Berthoud is centrally located in the Northern Colorado front range, beween Longmont and Loveland, on the West side of Interstate 25. Its location provides excellent access for commuters into Larimer County, Boulder and Weld County. It is also within commuting distance of the University of Colorado and Colorado State University as well as other universities and community colleges.
Berthoud is a main corridor to access Carter Lake Marina from I-25. This marina is 3-miles long and 1-mile wide and is an 1,100 acre reserve surrounded by 1,000 acres of public land. The lake provides for fishing, boating, sailing, water skiing, camping, picnicking, swimming, scuba diving and rock climbing.
Within the town of Berthoud there are trails, several parks and a public swimming pool.
Berthoud is a part of Thompson R2-j school district.
